The Image you are requesting doesn’t Exist Error in ChatGPT {Fixed}
The image you are requesting does not exist or is no longer available is a common error of ChatGPT. ChatGPT shows this error while loading images from Imgur during output. If you are also experiencing this error, I have a trick to get the image from ChatGPT.
Why does the ChatGPT image doesn’t exist Occurs?
ChatGPT is trained on data available till 2021, and due to this, if you request an image from ChatGPT, it gives you an image through markdown language with links from its database. Most of these links are obsolete and no longer working.
Due to this, it shows the following error: ” The image you are requesting does not exist or is no longer available. “ Here is the screenshot of the error:
ChatGPT uses Wikipedia & Imgur images on its platform. Wikipedia images are rarely deleted as they are uploaded after full checking and by trusted members, while Anyone can upload images on Imgur. People tend to delete those uploaded images after a certain period, so you can see an error stating that the image does not exist or is no longer available.
I hope you have understood why this error occurs. Here is an example output by ChatGPT when I requested an image from it through Imgur.
Here I requested an Apple Image from ChatGPT using markdown language from Imgur. If I requested just an image of Apple, the response would be different. Here is an example:
Here you can see the importance of prompt writing. If you simply request an image from ChatGPT, this will be its response. However, let’s focus on our topic.
As you can see, I got the error that the image does not exist or is no longer available. If you try to open the link in another window, it still shows the image is unavailable. Here is the screenshot:
You can try it on your own. Here is the link which ChatGPT is giving me in its output: https://i.imgur.com/QvKPYpC.jpg

-
- Open the ChatGPT window in which you got the image does not exist error. Ensure you don’t open a new window, or you will not get the desired output.
- Copy the image link. You can right-click on the error and click on the “copy image address.”
- Once you copy the image link. Go to the prompt box.
- Enter the following prompt: “Can you describe this image?: {Image Link}“
- Here is the expected output for the prompt.
